Fishing at Briery Creek Lake, Virginia
Impounded in 1986, Briery Creek Lake was stocked with Florida- and northern-Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish (aka Shellcrackers), Channel Catfish, and Crappie. As part of the lake project plan, the treatment of timber at the original flooding of Briery Creek Lake has been a significant and enduring factor in the continuing success of the fisheries there. Trees were left standing or drum-chopped, leading to the development of flourishing and extensive aquatic vegetation structures. ![]() FISHING CONDITIONS ![]() ![]() ![]() SAFETY ![]() ![]() |
